This elegant 2.430 carat natural sapphire comes from the prolific gem deposits of Ilakaka, Madagascar, one of the world’s most important modern sources of fine sapphire.

The stone displays a beautiful periwinkle blue color with delicate violet undertones, creating a lively and distinctive appearance that shifts subtly with lighting. Its lighter tone allows exceptional brilliance, giving the gem bright flashes of light and crisp facet reflections across the entire stone.

Importantly, this sapphire is completely unheated, meaning its color and clarity are entirely natural and have not been enhanced by heat treatment. Untreated sapphires of this clarity and size are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. Cut in my signature round design the gem measures 7.6 mm

The gem is also loupe clean, showing no inclusions under 10× magnification—a rare level of clarity for natural sapphire.
